Once we finally got to tokyo had to go through immigration and customs which was a breeze, unlike our sleep deprived panicking brains thought it would be like. We then spent a bit of time walking around the Narita Airport.
Then it was time for our first meal! And while we were tempted with McDonalds..we went for some Japanese food, albeit some more well known ones..well naomis was a bit different..but still really good. The restaurant was really strange..you walk in..then theres to big signs with food. Left side food you go to the left side of the restaurant and order from one of the booths, right side you do the same over there. Then you get a little gadget that looked like a USB memory stick that beeps when your order is ready and you go pick it up. Then you pay as you leave back at the door. I got Katsu Curry (deep fried crispy pork cutlet on rice with a sweet curry sauce). Naomi got a katsu sandwich (the same kind of pork in circle cut sandwiches with spicy mayo and pickled raddish and some chips on the side). The staff were dressed in full chef whites and little scarves, funny to see in an airport fast food place.
After that we said goodbye to Nathan at his gate (luckily he found another western guy going to Okinawa so we left with him and headed to get train tickets.
I will update with pics on the journey to her parents a little later!
Thats all for now!
